Notes

From Robert B Weaver's book: Josua Weaver of Ashe County, North Carolina, is believed to be the father of William (Sr.) and Capt Isaac Weaver. The late Wade Eller, an able genealogist of Ashe County, stated that Joshua Weaver was the father of William Weaver, Sr. as he was the "Only Bull in the Pasture."

One Joshua Weaver was listed as a tithable with Isaac Weaver in Pittsylvania County, Va, in 1767. Apparently the same Joshua Weaver was listed as tithable June 16, 1770 in Botetourt County, Virginia.

Joshua Weaver of Morgan District, North carolina, which includes present day Ashe County, received $108 from Revolutionary Army Accounts. The same record lists nine pounds two shillings paid to William Weaver. The first recorded Ashe County court held May 12, 1806, one Joshua Weaver was elected one of the seven Constables. This could have been the son of William Weaver, Jr.
