Narrative
REBECCA THOMKINS, Solomon's wife, was born in TN butr they may have been married in Ashe Co, NC, no record has been found. In 1827 Solomon was granted land in Lee Co, VA (area now Wise Co.) In 1833 he mnoved to Harlan Co. KY, later to Greenup Co. (area became Carter Co in 1838). He may have first settled on the land granted to Francis in 1833. Solomon and Rebecca lived out their lives on this farm on Meadow Creek near Willard KY and are buried in a family cemetery on this farm. Census records show their first three children born in VA, the others in KY.
Rebecca lived her last years with her daughter Amanda.
