Narrative
A search of 1880 census records for Grayson county, Virginia produced an almost illegable record showing Etta L, an older sister (over 10), and parents names that were also nearly illegible. A search of 1870 records showed the family group with legible names giving me Granville and Malinda and approximate ages. A comparison of the two records allowed the nearly illegable 1880 record to be deciphered. An online search for Granville and Malinda produced Malinda's surname and parents names for both. -THS
