Narrative
Born in Dinwiddie Co, VA and migrated to NC with his father's family. He served in several campaigns during the American revolution and married his wife Mary Starrett in Lincoln Co, NC while still in the Army. They made their first home in Lincoln Co, NC where their first five children were born. They lived near Trap Hill NC on a farm which os now part of the Stone Mountain State Park and it is an unproven family tradition that they were buried in the old Lyons family cemetery near Trap Hill. Census records, private records and known family kinships identify their children as listed.
