Narrative
Born in Lincoln Co, NC. she married her husband William folkes, probably in Wilkes Co, NC but no record has been found. It is uncertain where they made their first home as laer census records do not agree on the birthplace of their first two children. They livd in either Surry Co, NC or Grayson Co, VA. Shortly before 1810 the family moved to Sullivan Co,TN, but were in Wythe Co, VA in 1820. In 1825 they bought a farm in Grayson Co, VA (area now Carroll Co.) on Stewarts Creek near the Surry Co, NC line and here they lived out their lives. Their place of burial is unknown. Public records and known family kinships identify the children.
