Narrative
Two of William's daughters had sons born out of wedlock. Sabra's son, Harvey, was adopted by his stepfather John Sanders and raised by this name but the census records of 1830 and 1840 indicate that their grandfather William Sturgill raised both of these boys. -pg 52
SABRA STURGILL was born in Ashe Co. NC Before she married John Sanders she had a son whose father was a soldier named Brooks. Her husband adopted this child whho was raised as a Sanders. Their first home was in Ashe Co. NC where two more children were born. In 1834 they moved to Wise Co. VA. In 1860 to Lawrence Co. OH. -pg 83
