Narrative

GEORGE STURGILL enlisted in the Confederate Calavry in 1863. When the war ended he returned to Ashe Co. NC where he married Sarah Jane Williams. They lived out their lives on a farm on the south fork of New River where all their children were born. they were buried in the Mt. Zion cemetery near Piney Creek. - pg 106
